Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli is one of the world’s most famous tyre brands, with its roots going back to a rubber factory founded in 1872. The Milan-based company started producing tyres in 1901 and has had a colorful history.
The company’s tyres are synonymous with motorsport. Pirelli’s famous P-Zero tyres are a fixture on the F1 circuit. They cost about £1,300 a set and are designed to degrade much quicker than their ‘normal’ counterparts to make races more exciting. Thankfully you can get your hands on a set of road-going P-Zeros for a lot less than that.
The company makes everything from its Scorpion Verde range for green performance for SUVs and 4x4s to run-flats and everything in-between. You can also get run-flat Pirelli tyres – the company, alongside Bridgestone, helped pioneer run-flat technology which can be found as standard on many cars today.
